Repel 100 is a maximum strength insect repellent to help protect against the risk of malaria and other insect-borne diseases such as dengue fever, West Nile Virus and filariasis.
Repel 55 is a medium strength insect repellent to help protect in major towns and cities in these regions
This strength of insect repellent should be considered for use when traveling in remote rural areas of tropical and sub-tropical central and south America (e.g. Brazil, Colombia, Panama and the Caribbean Islands), sub-Saharan Africa (e.g. Nigeria, Cameroon, Congo, Kenya and Tanzania), India and Pakistan, and south-east Asia, including Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. When staying in major towns and cities in these regions, consider using a milder insect repellent such as Repel 55
This insect repellent is not suitable for use on children.
Repel 100 and Repel 55 is available as a 60 or 120ml spray. If you wish to take the Repel on board an aeroplane, then please order the 60 ML version to ensure it complies with flight restrictions for liquids etc.
Repel is a showerproof product, however it will need to be reapplied after swimming or if you are soaked after a heavy rainstorm etc. It can be applied at the same time as suncream and it does not matter in which order it is applied.
With respect to usage, the manufacturers advise that one 120ML bottle will last approximately 14 days, however this is very dependent on humidity and the type of conditions that you are travelling in. We would suggest that you work on this principle if you are travelling for a few months and maybe consider adding a couple of extra bottles for safety. Repel will last for 3 years from the original manufacturing date so product expiry issues will not be a problem.
